Yesterday I participated in the 2nd annual Colors and Chords fundraiser for the Islands of Brilliance. I was paired with an amazing band from Milwaukee called the Midwest Death Rattle. Thank for the invite, Melissa! On the way to Milwaukee I kept sayin’ to myself, “what did I get myself into?” I have painted in front of people before, however, I was not sure how this was going to look like. I used to participate in Good Knight’s Open Canvas live painting, but I had 4-5 hours to create a painting. In Colors and Chords I had 20 minutes to create a painting. Talk about pressure. What is even more pressure is not having an idea what to paint. Talk about ‘off the cuff’. Luckily, I was scheduled later in the evening so I had the opportunity to see how other artists performed alongside the bands.
It was great to be a part of something that makes a difference in the lives of other children and young adults on the Autism spectrum. Such a great program! Visit Islands of Brilliance at islandsofbrilliance.org.
I have exciting news to share.
I have been invited to participate in the 2nd annual Color & Chords art event to be held on November 22 from 6-10pm at Turner Hall in Milwaukee. I have been paired with the Midwest Death Rattle. As they perform I will be painting.
This event is a fundraiser for the Islands of Brilliance.
Colors & Chords merges music and live art onstage, creating a truly multi-sensory experience filled with unexpected and memorable collaborations. Proceeds benefit Islands of Brilliance, a Milwaukee nonprofit that runs creative and technology workshops for children, teens and young adults on the autism spectrum.

Congratulations to all of the artists! This annual exhibition features works from Friends of THELMA, members of Fond du Lac Visual Arts, Fond du Lac Artists Association, and the Sheboygan Visual Artists. This show runs until November 12, 2016.
This evening I presented on “The Life of an Abstract Painter”. This presentation was part of the Artists In The Artery Series at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan. During this presentation I talked about how my work developed at a pivotal point in my life (2005) and how my environment impacted my view on the world around me.
Through the process of creating I was able to reflect on life experience, use art as a way to make sense of the world and my thoughts, and use it as a vehicle to bring order back into my life.
Join Dale, Rudy, and I on Friday, June 11 from 6-10pm for our studio sale at the Knaak + Juarez Studio, 1310 Wisconsin Avenue, 2nd flr in Sheboygan. We will have paintings, drawings, and photographs available for purchase.
Here is a sample gallery of paintings I will have available. I will also have drawings and photography available as well.
Simply contact me with the name of the painting you would like to purchase.
