Flashback 2010: Ready for 2016

My process varies from painting to painting. Over the past 7 years I have experimented with various techniques and hit a breaking point in 2012. This is when I took my first break from painting since I started in 2000. The break was a few months. Long enough to evaluate what I enjoyed about painting and applying it to future paintings.

About a couple weeks ago I gessoed 9 canvases and have not touched them since yesterday. This format brought me back to 2010 when I had the idea of creating small studies for larger paintings. A time when I was producing a lot of work. I enjoyed this format because it allowed me to respond immediately to what I was producing.
